POLO TOURNAMENT on Jeju??

The polo tournament was so much fun yesterday! Yes, it was a real polo
match....the first one ever in Korea...here on Jeju Island! They just opened a beautiful and large stadium here and since our friend Jon writes for the Jeju Weekly, he was able to meet the owner/ architect of the place and interviewed him. The owner, who is originally from the mainland of Korea, now living in Singapore, and soon one day will be retiring to Jeju, put in a FORTUNE for the stadium. He
had all the horses imported from Argentina, he had $400,000 worth of North
Korean sand imported (underneath the field which allows for the field to
be dried 30 minutes after a downpour), and he's currently building condos and bungalows around the resort. Check out the article our friend who
writes for the Jeju weekly wrote.

Luckily, after the interview, Jon was invited...along with a few of his friends (including me and Keith!) to go to the first polo tourney! Only about 6 of us went and everything was free! We were the only ones there who weren't polo members. Another words, we had to "pretend" like we were very wealthy and fit in. My role was to play a former WNBA player...my career ended after my recent shoulder surgery. Keith was a car-dealer :)

Everything was complimentary.
Here's what we were able to experience.....

-delicious little miniature food/ appetizers
-drinks...wine, wine, wine
-mongolian horse show
-polo match
-dinner party (crab legs, salmon, shrimp, other sushi, etc)
-famous korean singer...SG Wannabe/ we had comfy couch seats right next to the
performance
-watched the world cup match (Korea vs. Greece) with koreans going insane because they won
-partied in our downtown area with the polo players (players from
singapore, australia, england, korea, philippines, argentina )

What a night! We didn't make it back til about 4 in the morning!
