KIS: Challenging, yet rewarding

Wow, this semester, starting in August, has certainly been a new chapter in our lives. Keith and I went from teaching ESL in the public schools (I only had to plan 2 lessons a week and then teach those same lessons 10 times a week with no homework to grade or work to bring home) to teaching PE and 5th grade at a brand new boarding, international school. Since I am new to elementary, not only have I been re-learning everything that I must teach, but myself along with the other two 5th grade teachers, have been creating the entire curriculum (and with hardly any teaching books). Also, we have been given boarding duties each Monday night and both Saturday and Sunday all day, once a month. This means that once a month we are working 12 days straight in a row! It has certainly been an interesting semester, yet although it has been stressful and challenging, I have never had such great experiences and such rewarding moments.
