This is the third year that Keith and I are teaching English overseas and traveling the world. We are still on Jeju Island, but we are teaching at an American boarding international school this year (KIS), about an hour away from our old home. I hope my blog, pictures, and videos help you learn about South Korea, the Korean people and their culture. I also hope to have this blog in order to keep in touch with the friends and family who I love and miss so much back in Chicago!

Keith's 26!!
For Keith's 26th b-day, I planned a whole weekend of fun!
First, on the Friday of Keith's b-day weekend, I invited all our friends out to dinner at Rajmahal, our favorite Indian restaurant on the island (the owner if from Nepal and is an outstanding cook!). After dinner and eating a delicious b-day cookie cake that I ordered for Keith (with a picture of him fishing on the cake), we all headed out to the casino at the Grand Hotel, only walking distance from the restaurant. Then a few hours later we went to Modern Times, a good brewery bar. Overall, we saw about 40 friends throughout the night, following us to each place or meeting up for a few b-day drinks and to congratulate Keith.
One other fun thing I planned for the night was to have all of our friends bring a surprise doughnut for Keith. See, every time we're in city hall, Keith always wants to stop by Dunkin Doughnut for a treat. Since I knew Keith would be pretty excited if he got so many doughnuts and it was also an inexpensive gift for everyone to bring, it worked out perfectly! Keith was very surprised and it was so funny because he ended up having a huge bag of doughnuts. Luckily, later in the night all of our friends helped Keith eat them so that he didn't get too sick!
It was a fun night. However, it was only the start of his b-day weekend. The next part is in the upcoming blog! Read on!
